Bonding the front of a swimming pool mosaic with paper is the original method.
In contrast to the mesh bonding on the back, the paper bonding on the front is applied to the surface of the pool mosaic tiles. Imagine the functionality of the paper bonding as similar to a large postage stamp. After installing the swimming pool mosaic, you simply remove the paper from the mosaic tiles by moistening the surface.

What significantly distinguishes mosaic tiles from other tiles in permanently wet areas is their extremely high level of wear and tear. Continuous moisture, temperature fluctuations outdoors due to changing weather conditions, water pressure, and increased exposure to chemical additives such as chlorine and aggressive cleaning agents require special material properties for use in permanently wet areas. Our Classic swimming pool collection therefore has the following features:

Dangers and disadvantages of bonding the mesh to the back of the mosaic mat in pool areas with 20x20 mm mosaics or smaller:
Proven to reduce adhesion by up to 50 percent due to the mesh on the back of the mosaic mat. Detachment of the mosaic tiles may occur.
Glass mosaic tiles are often additionally attached to the mesh with water-soluble adhesive, which prevents 100 percent adhesion with the tile adhesive.
